In general, we are habituated with xerox as photocopy. The brand made its technology at a time, it was much needed. People started to believe photocopy can be termed as xerox.
People started to believe surf as a detergent, until Surf Excel has its competitors. When we think of any detergent brand, we often call it surf. But Surf Excel itself is a brand. We may use another brand, but we prefer to say surf. Surf Excel made its brand name in such a way, when we think of detergent it comes to our mind.
